[Many Lottery Wins!!] Whiskies Purchased in March 2024 [YouTube Video Included]

I would like to introduce the whiskey I purchased in March 2024.

1st bottle: Festival Bottle Lindose 2019-2023 4 years

This is an event-limited bottle for the Chichibu Whiskey Festival.

I received an e-mail announcing the winner on February 29th, and at that point I knew I had won, but since it would not be shipped until March, I would like to introduce it to you now.

Distilled in 2019, bottled in 2023, and aged for 4 years in fresh bourbon barrels.

This item was also on sale to the general public, so I think everyone who applied for the lottery was able to buy it.

2nd bottle: Festival Bottle Band Label Blended Scotch 1996 27 years

I will continue to introduce more festival bottles.

It is a blended Scotch distilled in 1996 and aged for 27 years.

Blended malt was often chosen for the band label, but this time it's blended Scotch, so grain whiskey is used.

It is also said that all of the constituent whiskeys are made from Highland, with Invergordon as the grain and Clynelish as the key malt.

It's a blended wine, but it's aged for 27 years and costs 20,000 yen, which is cheap.

3rd bottle: Festival Bottle Secret Aira 2007 15 years

This is also a festival bottle.

A sherry hogshead distilled in 2007 in Secret Islay and aged for 15 years.

As for the distillery, it is a popular distillery in South Islay, so it seems like Lagavulin.

The price is about 30,000 yen, but Aira tends to be relatively expensive, so I think it's about the market price.

4th bottle: Festival Bottle Asaka 2019-2024

From here, we will introduce Japanese whiskey from Matsuri Bottle.

Distilled in 2019, bottled in 2024, Cabernet Sauvignon cask, red wine cask.

Many people may not like red wine barrels, but although you can feel some tannins, I don't think there are any unpleasant elements.

As for the price, Azumi's single cask cask strength is often sold for around 16,500 yen, so I think it's about the market price.

5th bottle: Festival bottle YA

YA also won.

There was no information on the age etc.

I drank this at a seminar during an event, and it had a fruity nuance and was delicious.

Since water has been added to 50%, I think the comparison target would be the official one, but the official one costs 9,000 yen, while this one costs 19,000 yen, which is about twice as expensive.

I guess it's because it's treated as a small batch. . ?

6th bottle: Festival Bottle Kanosuke 2018-2024

Kanosuke also won.

It was distilled in 2018, bottled in 2024, and aged in barrels used for shochu.

It's a delicious bottle with quite a melon nuance.

I think most of Kanosuke's single casks are priced around 25,000 yen, so I think it's a little cheaper than the market price.

There are a total of 8 festival bottles for this Chichibu Whiskey Festival 2024.

In addition to the six winning entries, there are Glenrothes and Dornoch.

Glenrothes was delicious, but it cost about 40,000 yen, so I gave up on ordering because of the price.

The lottery for Dornoch will be held around May (I was informed later that due to the delay in importing it, it will be around July).At the timing of this March, all six of the applications I applied for were successful.

Personally, I think Dornoch was the best bottle for this festival, so I'm looking forward to the lottery in the future.

I think all of the bottles at this festival are of a high standard, so if you see them at a bar, be sure to give them a try.

7th: Brave New Spirits Blair Atholl 2011

This bottle was distilled in 2011 by a bottler called Brave New Spirits and aged for 11 years in bourbon hogsheads.

I bought this because I drank it at a bar and it was delicious.

Aged for 11 years, the price is around 12,000 yen, which I think falls into the category of good value for money, considering the number of years x 1000 yen.

It looks like it's still available, so I think you can buy it, and if you see it at a bar, give it a try.

8th: Akkeshi Risshun

A lottery was held at Bic Shuhan in March, and three bottles were selected for the lottery: Single Malt Kanosuke, Hakushu 12 Year Old, and Akkeshi Risshun.

I applied only for Hakushu 12th year and Akkeshi Risshun and was successfully selected.

Bic Sakehan won the Yamazaki 12 Years in March last year, so this is the first time in about a year that he won.

I think the chances of winning are low, but if there's something I'm interested in, I'll continue to apply.

Summary

The festival bottle alone costs a considerable amount of money. .

I wasn't able to find any whiskeys like Yamazaki, Hakushu, Hibiki, or Chita whose prices would increase from April 1st, so I was thinking of sticking with Blair Athol this month, but it seemed like Akkeshi would be the winner at the last minute.

6 festival bottles, Akkeshi were also won by lottery.

Although the odds were different, 7/8 of the winning whiskeys were winners, so I think it was a very lucky month.

Finally, April came and the prices went up. .

I feel that not only the official but also the bottlers are going up in price. .

Bottler's doesn't have a list price, but the market price is around this, and recent prices have exceeded that to some degree.

I think this price increase is a good opportunity to reconsider the way you buy whisky.

I plan on continuing to buy whiskey, but instead of buying just about everything, I would like to buy bottles that I think are delicious.

You may not be able to buy popular bottles because you have to choose whether or not to buy them before drinking, but I think it would be nice to be able to drink them at a bar.

The number of bottles may decrease, but I think I will buy some kind of whiskey, soIntroduction to whiskey purchased in April 2024Please look forward to it.
