1st: Chichibu 2014-2024 For Calvador 20th anniversary
Located in Kyoto, ``calvadorThis is a book commemorating the 20th anniversary of '.
The wine is aged in Calvados barrels, which are unique to Calvador.
I think the sweetness comes from the apples, and the aftertaste has a light nuttiness and plum flavor.
It's 65% high proof, so it had a strong flavor and was delicious.
2nd: Loch Lomond 2013 2nd Phil Oloroso Hogshead
This is a collaboration, or rather, a private bottle, between Asaya Shoten, a famous liquor store in Chichibu, and Youtuber Sergio.
It was nice to feel the chemical fruitiness.
Previously released, “Loch Lomond 2013 Three Tencho” and No. 429, the cask number is the same, but the parts after the hyphen are different. (Asaya x Serjio is 2, Three Tencho is 5)
I don't know the exact meaning of how many parts the same barrel was divided into, but the taste was quite similar.
The price was around 10,000 yen, so I could have bought it, but I had quite a few Three Tencho left, so I decided not to buy it.
3rd: Secret Islay 2009-2023 2014 Hogshead
This is the Art Session Secret Islay released by Rudder, and the inside is Ardbeg.
When you think of Ardbeg, you imagine the punch of strong peat and iodine, but this was a gentle and beautiful Ardbeg.
As for the taste, I felt an oceanic feel similar to canned oysters and elements of tropical fruit.
It's a nice bottle except for the fact that the price is close to 40,000 yen, but 40,000 yen for 14 years of aging is quite prohibitive. .
4th: Old Particular Bowmore 10 Years 2013 Refill Hogshead
I felt fruity and peat.
Bowmore itself has a fruity image, but it is 18 years over.
This one has been aged for 10 years, but it still has a fruity taste, so it gave me a different impression of short-ripened Bowmore.
5th bottle: Single Malts of the Scotland Glen Moray 2007 15 years
This is Glen Moray distilled in 2007, which is said to be a successful year.
It had honey and cream, floral, and Muscat-like nuances, and was packed with everything I expected from a short- to medium-ripened Glen Moray.
I thought about buying it because it was cheap, but everyone seemed to think the same thing: it was so popular that it was sold out everywhere and I couldn't buy it. .
6th: T&T TOYAMA Glen Moray 2005 18 Refill Barrel
It's not a successful year, but it's Glen Moray distilled in 2008.
I felt honey, cream, and astringency.
Up until this point, 07 Glen Moray had been stronger, but towards the end I could really feel the fruitiness of white peach and muscat.
This bottle has been aged for 18 years and costs 18,000 yen, which is a bargain these days as it is priced at 1,000 yen for the number of years, so I may purchase it in the future.
7th: Longmorn 1999 Hogshead for cask
Shinanoya opened a new store called Cask in Toranomon, and this bottle was released to commemorate the opening.
It was delicious with a fruity taste of honey and white peach.
However, the price is about 40,000 yen. . I would have bought it if it was close to 30,000 yen. .
8th: Secret Highland 1985 35 Year Hogshead for BAR BARNS
A famous bar in Nagoya, ``BAR BARNSThis is a book for people like you.
It's called Secret Highland, but inside it's Glenmorangie.
This is a bottle with a fairly complex flavor of Japanese pear, leather, vanilla, berry, pomegranate, brown sugar, and passion fruit.
When I first poured it, I felt a strong hint of pear, but after a while in the glass, the aroma and taste changed, with hints of pomegranate and brown sugar.
It was a book that I wanted to take my time and enjoy the changes.
9th: Laphroaig 18 years old
I felt peaty and slightly yellow fruit.
If you drink it for a while, the fruit will become stronger.
This is water-added, but I think it would probably cost around 35,000 yen if distributed in Japan.
『Williamson 2006 17 Year Barrel for ASAYA & SHINANOYA” is a single cask cask strength, but it costs about 54,000 yen.
If it's a medium-ripened Laphroaig, it seems like you can get the best parts of short-ripening and medium-ripening wines, such as peat and fruit, to a certain extent, so I think it will be okay to use the official version from now on.
Closing Thoughts
I think I was able to find a delicious bottle in August 2024 as well.
I don't buy many bottles, but I do plan on going to bars every now and then and drinking the popular bottles.
I will continue to work as a bar in September 2024.
