UCHU BREWING, a craft beer maker with a brewery in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, has opened a tap room called ``UCHU BREWING''.UCHU BREWING Azabudai” is open for a limited time until March 2025, so I came here.
UCHU BREWING's craft beer (commonly known as space beer) is relatively easy to buy these days, but at one time it was really difficult to obtain, and it was common for beer to sell out within the same day after it hit the shelves, and even online, it was difficult to obtain.
Purchasing space beer was called the War of the Worlds, and it was said that if you could successfully obtain it, you had won the War of the Worlds.
This store is a tap room, so you can drink beer there, albeit in plastic cups, and purchase goods and canned beer.

The ordering method is cash-on style, where you tell the cashier the brand you want to drink and the number, and then pay.
The payment method was completely cashless, and all cashless payment methods could be used, including credit cards, various electronic money, and QR codes.
Also, although there were four types of beer on tap, it was also possible to drink canned beer sold at the store on the spot for an additional 100 yen for the container.
Space SENSEI
First of all, I would like to start with the lighter “Space SENSEI: 1,180 yen” I asked.
At first, it tastes like pineapple, and there is also a slight hint of seaweed.
There was almost no bitterness, and I got the impression that the aftertaste had a hop aroma and a strong gas.
Ancient Frost
Next is “Ancient Frost: 1,500 yen” I asked.
Only this one is smaller at 250ml, but the plastic cup had the UCHU BREWING logo on it.
『Space SENSEI” I felt a stronger pineapple and seaweed flavor.
Since it's an IPA, it has a bitter and vanilla flavor, but the hops come through in the aftertaste.
Impressions
I actually wanted to drink all the types, but beer just makes me feel full. .
I get drunk pretty easily, so I quit after two drinks.
The bill was 2,680 yen for 2 drinks.
Some people may be surprised that one beer costs over 1,000 yen. .
Some domestic craft beers cost about this much, so it's not unusually expensive.
Craft: Since it is produced in small quantities, the price is higher compared to the major brands, but there is a reason for the high price, such as this manufacturer uses more hops than regular beer.
Taste is a world of personal preference, so be sure to try it and see if it's worth the price.
The points I'm curious about are that it's a standing bar, there's no Otsumami (Snacks), and the store is made of glass so you can see it from the outside.
Personally, I just want to have a quick drink and go home, so standing bar is OK.
Craft beer, especially IPA, has a too strong flavor and often doesn't go well with meals, so Otsumami (Snacks) is not necessary.
Personally, it didn't bother me because even if I was seen from outside, there were other customers drinking, so it didn't attract attention.
As mentioned at the beginning, this store is only open for a limited time until March 2025, so please hurry.
But don't worry.
From April 2025, a permanent taproom will open in Toranomon Hills.
I plan to visit again when it opens again.
