Wellbe Imaike
『Whiskey Lovers Nagoya 2024” I came to Nagoya to participate in the event.

This is where I stay every time I come to Nagoya.Wellbe Imaike”.
I like saunas, and since I'm just going to sleep anyway, a capsule hotel is enough for one person, and best of all, it's cheap, so I use it every time.
When it comes to saunas in Nagoya, WellBe comes to mind.Currently, there are two stores in Nagoya, Sakae and Imaike, and one in Fukuoka (Fukuoka store).
There used to be another store in Nagoya, the Meieki store, but it was sadly closed due to the closure of the building that housed the Meieki store in 2023 last year. .
Drama “sa road”, and many people think of Wellbe as Sakae store.

There is no doubt that the Sakae store is a good facility, but there are many things that Imaike has that the Sakae store does not have, so personally, when it comes to WellBe, I think of the Imaike store.
Of course I accept objections.
So, this time I stayed at Wellbe Imaike for 2 nights, so I will write a review!
sauna
There are 4 types of saunas.
- finnish sauna
- Mori no Sauna (Forest Sauna)
- Karafuro (Akira)
- Karafuro (dark)
Karafuro is a small sauna for one person or two people in a group, so it may be full depending on the timing, but Finnish sauna and forest sauna are larger, so you won't have to wait.
finnish sauna
The main and largest sauna has a TV.
Loryu (Aufguss) is also performed in this sauna.
The Loryu is held every hour from 16:00 to 24:00, so I think you will be able to take the Loryu at least once during your stay.
The content varies depending on the person in charge, whether you call him a heat wave therapist or an aufgisser, so it might be interesting to take it multiple times.
It gets crowded during the Roryu event, so we recommend that you reserve a spot 10 to 5 minutes before the start time.
Mori no Sauna (Forest Sauna)
This is a sauna where you can self-roll.
It is specially designed with a cold bath in the same room.
Some have two tiers of seating, while others only have one tier.
The upper tier of the second tier is quite hot, so if you like a piping hot sauna, this is recommended.
Karafuro (Akira)
This is a small sauna that can be used by one person or two people in a group.
Self-rolling is also possible.
The side near the hot springs has a window and the outside light comes in, so it's bright, so I call it Karafuro (Ming).
There is a window so you can see if someone is inside from outside, but there is a sign near the door handle, so you can tell if the room is empty or steaming.
Please remember to turn over the tag when you enter or leave the room.
Karafuro (dark)
The one near the waterfall has a small window, but the interior is quite dark, so I call it Karafuro (dark).
The darkness in the room masks your vision.
The sauna's proximity to a waterfall masks the sounds of people talking, forcing you into a meditative state, and it's my personal favorite sauna at WellBe Imaike.
Since you can't look into the room from the outside, you can tell if someone is inside by looking at the sign in front of the sauna that says it's empty or steaming.
Please remember to turn over the tag when you enter or leave the room.
water bath
There are two types of cold baths and a frozen sauna.
- water bath
- Cold bath in the forest sauna
- frozen sauna
water bath
*Quoted from Wellbe Imaike Official X
This is the main water bath.
The water temperature is about 10°C to 13°C.
It's not very big, only 3 to 4 people can enter at the same time, so depending on the timing, you may have to wait, especially when you're at Lowryu, unless you leave early or stay long.
Cold bath in the forest sauna
There is also a cold bath inside the forest sauna.
The temperature is a little high, around 17℃ to 18℃.
Because it is located inside a forest sauna, you can experience the strange sensation that your body in the water is cold, but your face and head coming out of the water are hot.
frozen sauna
The room temperature is close to freezing.
Personally, I find it a little unsatisfying to take a sauna after taking a sauna, as only the surface gets cold.
Personally, I use it in this way, as it's nice to take a short soak in the frozen sauna after completing a sauna or bath session and before leaving the bathroom.
rest spot
I did it! We have added more chairs for outdoor bathing!#WellBeImaike #sauna #Outdoor air bath pic.twitter.com/HviTikfIda

There are rest spots inside the bathroom and outside, so you can also take a bath in the outside air.
The appeal of the Imaike store is that you can take a bath in the open air, which is not possible at the Sakae or Fukuoka stores.
Another great point is that there are infinity chairs in the open air.
I have the impression that it was never so crowded that it was impossible to use it except after the Loryu.
The unfortunate point is that a condominium has been built next door, so the entire open-air area has been covered with a blindfold or something like a tent.
Before, I could see the sky.
However, I can still enjoy outdoor bathing, and I think it can be considered a plus in the sense that I am no longer exposed to the rain.
bath
There are 6 types of baths.
- open-air rock bath
- Tsuboyu
- Nekorobi-yu
- Four Seasons Hot Spring
- Jacuzzi
- boiling water
There is a water dispenser in the bathroom, and barley tea is available in the changing room, so you can stay hydrated without having to change clothes every time.
Another great feature is that you can use as many towels as you like.
open-air rock bath
The biggest feature of the Imaike store is that it has a hot spring.
Apparently, the source water from Ikeda Sakura Onsen is transported by tank truck. .
The slightly thick spring quality is the best.
I recently realized that although I like saunas, I prefer baths and hot springs.
You can do it in saunas, baths, and hot springs to get lost in your thoughts, but I prefer baths and hot springs for the simple reason that I can soak in them for a longer period of time than saunas.
The loop of hot springs → outside air bath → hot springs →… is irresistible, and I love the feeling of melting both my heart and time.
Tsuboyu
There is also a hot spring bath for one person in the open air.
There is a hot spring, so I personally have never used it.
Nekorobi-yu
A bath that you can take while lying down? is.
The water wasn't deep enough to be called deep, and only my back was immersed in the hot water, or rather, I thought it was for outdoor bathing rather than a bath.
Four Seasons Hot Spring
The pink in the image? This is hot water.
This is an indoor bath that changes daily.
The baths are not always pink, and you can enjoy baths that match the season, such as yuzu baths.
Jacuzzi
This is the bath seen in the foreground in the image above.
The indoor bath has a Jacuzzi or rather a bath with a vibra.
However, there is a hot spring, albeit an open-air one, and there is Shiki-no-Yu next door, so I have never used it.
boiling water
This is the bath seen in the back of the image above.
There is a slightly hot bath in the indoor bath.
I have never used it for the same reason as the Jacuzzi.
capsule hotel
This time I stayed for 2 nights and used a memory foam mattress on the upper level of the capsule.
The facilities inside the capsule are the usual: lighting, TV, and electrical outlets.
When making a reservation, you can choose the upper or lower tier of the capsule and the type of mattress (low-resilience, high-repulsion, body pressure dispersion).
By the way, the price will not change, so I think it's a good idea to choose the one you like.
The capsule has a curtain, and you can't see what's inside, so your privacy is protected, but some light leaks through the mesh of the curtain, and you can hear snoring.
Private premium rooms are also available for around 2,000 yen.
Even if you pay 2,000 yen more, I think it's still cheaper than a regular hotel, so if you're concerned about people around you, such as snoring, you might want to stay here.
Problem: Locker width is narrow
If I were to point out a problem when staying overnight, it would be that the lockers are narrow.
Not only suitcases, but even large backpacks may not be able to be placed in lockers.
There are a limited number of large, wide lockers near the locker room, and if you ask the front desk, they will lend you the key and you can use them.
However, the area with large lockers is not a locker room (changing room), so you cannot change your clothes.
Also, if the larger lockers are full, you will have to keep them at the front desk.
It's not that you can't leave large luggage, but it can be a bit of a hassle to have to use multiple lockers or store it at the front desk.
restaurant
The restaurant menu at the Imaike store is quite extensive compared to the Sakae and Fukuoka stores.
The lineup is not only fulfilling, but also satisfies sauna lovers and alcohol lovers.
Day 1: Bottle beer + Oden + Hormone grilled ramen
It's the first night.
First up is Bin Beeru (Bottled Beer).
I'm usually a fan of giraffes, but somehow Akaboshi caught my eye, so I ordered Akaboshi.
First of all, as a snack,Assorted oden” I ordered.
Since it's Nagoya, it comes with miso.
Although the oden seeds themselves do not have regional characteristics, it is interesting to see regional characteristics in the sauce and condiments, such as Hakata's yuzu pepper.
As a main course, I ordered ``Grilled Hormone Ramen Mashimashi”.
I ordered the mashimashi (charged) with more vegetables.
I'm going to drink beer with the juicy beef offal as a snack, and rice comes automatically with it.
Serve the offal and vegetables as snacks or as a side dish, and finish with noodles and soup.
I think this is one cup that will make you feel happy.
breakfast
Capsule guests can enjoy breakfast for free.
It's a Viking format.
After this “Whiskey Lovers Nagoya 2024” I drink whiskey, so I choose one that doesn't leave a bad taste in my breath.
By the way, regular sauna users who are not capsule guests can also use the sauna for 1,000 yen.
Day 2: Bottled beer + Viet Cong ramen mashimashi
『Whiskey Lovers Nagoya 2024'', and then ``Misen Imaike main store” and took a break.

This will be my second dinner today. .
Start with a bottle of beer.
Personally, this is what I order every time I visit Wellbe Imaike.Viet Cong Ramen Mashimashi”.
Viet Cong Ramen is an abbreviation for Best Condition Ramen, and it seems that the name comes from the fact that it uses a large amount of ingredients such as chives and garlic that can improve your physical condition.
There are various theories, but one theory is that Viet Cong Ramen originated in Aichi Prefecture.
In addition to Viet Cong Ramen, there are Nagoya dishes such as chicken wings on the menu, so you can enjoy Nagoya dishes without going out.
By the way, although there is a charge, we recommend that you make it better and have a large serving of vegetables.
It has a large amount of stir-fried vegetables on top, making it a perfect snack.
It contains crunchy bean sprouts, some thinly sliced chives and pork, and even a bunch of garlic.
The garlic is thoroughly stir-fried, so the crunchy texture is irresistible.
I had to go early the next morning, and I was going to a place where I didn't want my breath to smell like garlic, so I ate the garlic sparingly.
The soup and noodles are almost the same as the hormone ramen I ate yesterday.
If you are staying for one night, it is difficult to decide whether to have Hormone Ramen or Viet Cong Ramen. .
By the way, I overslept and couldn't eat breakfast the next morning. .
Others
There are also Internet cafe-like elements, such as a large amount of manga and PCs for Internet use.
I was lazing around reading Blue Rock and Freelen, which I was halfway through reading.
There are vending machines inside the hotel (for a fee), and there is also a free water server for guests, so you don't have to worry about staying hydrated when you're not in the sauna or bathroom.
Of course, Wi-Fi is available.
Although I didn't use it, there are massages and Akasuri services available.
Overall Assessment
After using it this time, I realized once again that Wellbe Imaike is my personal favorite sauna facility.
I have visited various sauna facilities mainly in Tokyo, from Hokkaido in the north to Kumamoto in the south, and judging from the overall sauna, bath, restaurant, accommodation, customer base, etc., I think Wellbe Imaike is the No. 1 sauna facility, not just within Wellbe.
I plan to use it again when I visit Nagoya.

■Price list
I visited here this time as an overnight stay, but of course it is also possible to visit for a day trip.
Accommodation fees are available on the official website. From 4,400 yen” and is slightly cheaper.
At Rakuten Travel,From 4,800 yen” and is slightly more expensive than the official website, so it seems better to use the official website unless you want to increase the SPU multiplier or use Rakuten points.
