1st bottle: Maoi Distillery Myaoi Gin Hanabi

It's not whiskey, it's gin.

This is the 6th edition of Maoi Distillery's Myaoi Gin.

The taste is mango and yogurt, and I think it has a mango lassi-like taste that you would drink at an Indian restaurant.

I think it would be delicious to mix it with regular soda, or if you want sweetness, use tonic, or if you want a little sweetness, try the sonic mix of soda and tonic, or if you want to add a dairy flavor, try mixing it with milk.

In any case, this was another delicious one.

2nd bottle: Maoi Distillery Myaoi Gin Yang Guifei

This is also not whiskey but gin.

This is also a bottle from Umaoi Distillery, and is a private bottle for Tamaniwa Liquor Store in Aichi Prefecture.

The theme is lychee, and lychee, lychee juice, and hops are used as botanicals.

I think you can feel the lychee more with tonic or sonic wari than with soda.

It's a private bottle, so it's limited in number, so it might be difficult to get your hands on one, but if you see it at a bar, give it a try.

I buy a lot of gin and liqueurs from Maoi Distillery, and I think most of them are high quality and delicious.

I think you can drink it at whiskey events, and it costs about 4,000 to 5,000 yen per bottle, so I think it would be fun to buy one to try.

3rd bottle: Scarlet Peach Amaro 2025

Again, it's not whiskey, it's amaro, a liqueur.

Amaro itself is a herbal drink.

I'm sure many of you who like alcohol already know about it, and many of you may have even seen it at bars or liquor stores, but one of the brands of amaro made in Japan is Scarlet.

Peach Amaro is released every summer and is made with peaches.

It uses not only peaches, but also herbs, spices, plant roots, fruit pulp and skin, and has a complex, herbal and spicy flavor.

This year's 2025 release has a particularly strong peach feel.

It's delicious to drink straight, and even when mixed with soda, it goes well with curry and spicy dishes due to its herb and spice elements.

Personally, I often finish off my whiskey by drinking a glass of these liqueurs straight.

There are many types of scarlet, but the orange that comes out in spring and the peach that comes out in summer are especially popular, so much so that they sell out soon after they start selling online.

I attended a seminar and was able to make a reservation there, so I was able to secure a reservation.

I think it will be difficult to obtain Peach Amaro from now on, but if you see it at a bar, please give it a try.

4th bottle: Scarlet Cafe Maro 2025

Next up is Cafe Amaro in Scarlet, and this is an amaro made with coffee.

The taste feels like coffee directly.

Of course, herbs and spices are also included, but these go well with coffee, so the finished product is delicious.

I drank it when I attended a seminar and was so shocked by how delicious it was that I bought it along with peach amaro.

I think it would be better to drink it like iced coffee with water.

5th bottle: Sakurao Gin Hamagou 2025

It's still gin, not whisky.

As you all know, Hamagou 2025 is a gin from Sakurao, which also produces whisky.

A plant called Hamago grows wild in Miyajima, Hiroshima, and this gin uses it as the main botanical.

I bought the 2024 version (image left) last year, and it was delicious, so I decided to buy the 2025 version as well.

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm sure it will be delicious.

6th bottle: Niigata Kameda Whiskey Plus 10th Anniversary

Finally, whiskey is here.

This was bottled to commemorate the 10th anniversary of ACORN's physical store Whiskey Plus in Ikebukuro.

Single cask cask strength from Kameda, Niigata, distilled in 2022 and aged for 3 years, with an alcohol content of 63%.

It went on sale in August 2025 and I went to buy it immediately.

I haven't tried it yet, but since it's a mini-bourbon barrel, I think the influence of the barrel is a little stronger, so I think you'll enjoy the richer flavor.

I'm going to open it and drink it when the time is right.

7th bottle: Niigata Kameda Sherry Cask Strength

A seminar was being held in Kameda, Niigata at the end of August, and I bought it when I attended it.

The Newborn Sherry Cask Finish (image left), which was previously released as a return gift for crowdfunding, won the Grand Prix in the Japanese Craft Whiskey Newborn category at the Tokyo Whiskey & Spirits Competition, TWSC2025, and to commemorate that, an aged version of the whiskey has been released.

Basically, it is sold only at each whiskey event, and I think there is a chance to purchase it at some seminars.

If you are interested, please buy it when you participate in an event.

8th bottle: Niigata Kameda Oloroso Sherry

I also purchased this when I attended a seminar.

This is one of the single casks made from Oloroso sherry barrels that was sold at the Hokkaido Whiskey & Spirits Festival held in July 2025.

The alcohol content is 54%, so I think water has been added.

I was posting a video of drinking and tasting Newborn Whiskey from Niigata Kameda under the title, Celebrating Niigata Kameda, but the last part was Part 2, which I posted in March 2024. Since then, a lot of things have been released, and I buy as much as I can, so there are a lot of things I haven't been able to introduce, so I think it's time to post them.

Closing Thoughts

In August 2025, I purchased a lot of gin and liqueurs other than whisky, so the correct title might be "purchased whiskey" or "purchased alcohol or distilled spirits." .

I was using it quite a bit until last month, so I think I've calmed down relatively this month.

As you can see, once the bonus months of June and July have passed, there will not be zero releases, but I think that the number of long-lived, large-scale releases that cost over 50,000 yen each, and releases that become a hot topic will have calmed down.

I think this trend will continue until September, October, and mid-November in normal years.

I'd like to keep an eye on things and save up for the release at the end of the year, and buy bottles that have been released in the past.

I think September will also be modest, but with that said, I'm sure people will still buy it, so please look forward to my next introduction to the whiskey I purchased in September 2025.
