1st bottle: Single Cask x Asaya Shoten x Tofu Calilla 2008 17 years
From the single cask, this is Asaya Shoten and Tofu's Kalila.
This is a bottle that was distilled in 2008 and aged for 17 years in a 1st fill bourbon barrel.
The taste is exactly as the label suggests, with pine, melon, barley, salt and peat, and a long fruity finish.
I sampled it in advance at "Whiskey Talk Fukuoka 2025" held in June, and it was so delicious that I ordered it on the spot.

Since it was shipped in July, it is introduced this month.
Recently, Islay bottlers have become more expensive, and I think the average price has become around 2,000 yen per year.
It's aged for 17 years, so it wouldn't be strange to pay around 34,000 yen, but I think it's cheap at about 22,000 yen.
Still, I think this tastes better than the 35,000 yen bottle.
I think it's a good release.
Last year too, Milton Duff was released on Mikata, and we are looking forward to future releases.
2nd bottle: Three Ten Choices Inch Gower 2000 24 years
The bottle was selected by three store managers: Mr. Yoshimura, the manager of M’s Tasting Room in Itabashi, Mr. Kurashima, the manager of Liquors Hasegawa main store in Yaesu, Tokyo Station, and Mr. Niimi, the manager of Liquor Mountain Ginza 777 store, making it a 3-ten choice.
It was pre-sold at the Likaman Ginza store, so I tried it, and I think it had elements of barley, honey, a hint of passion fruit, and perhaps red fruits and berries.
Although the overall impression is light and loose, I personally like this kind of whiskey, so I bought it.
Basically, I don't think you'll be disappointed if you choose one of these three options.
Three Ten Cho Choices have been released in various ways, and I also purchase Loch Lomond, but this is the last release.
I feel a little lonely, but since Mikata is often involved in the selection of barrels, I think there will be some kind of release in the future, either individually or under the name of the store, so I look forward to it in the future.
3rd bottle: Glenkinchie 12 Years
I bought an official Scotch for the first time in a while.
When I went to buy the Inch Gower at Likaman Ginza store earlier, they were having a sale on some brands, and Glenkinchy was about 4,000 yen a bottle, so I bought it.
The market price is around 5,000 yen to 5,500 yen per bottle, so I feel like I was able to buy it a little cheaper by 1,000 yen.
Kinchi goes well with water and has a honey-like taste.
Whiskey goes well with highballs, but there will be times when the carbonation gets too strong, so I think it would be useful to have a bottle that goes well with water.
4th bottle: THE PURPLE HAZE Venezuela Rum 2006 15 Years for BAR Ikkei & KINKO & SHINANOYA
It's not whiskey, it's rum.
This is a Venezuelan rum from THE PURPLE HAZE series released by Shinanoya.
The tropical flavor typical of rum is followed by a tea-like nuance that lingers in the mouth.
It doesn't have the adhesive/cemedine smell that is typical of rum, so I think even people who don't like rum will be able to drink it because of the scent.
This bottle itself was released around March and I received a purchase information. .
I spent too much money at the Chichibu Whiskey Festival the month before, so I skipped it. .
Later, when I drank it at a bar, it tasted so good that I wished I had bought it, and just when I was regretting not buying it, I happened to come across it this time.
It's good to buy online, but I think it's also important to visit brick-and-mortar liquor stores.
5th bottle: Whiskey Gallery Blended Islay Malt 2010
It's a blended Islay malt, but it says 1 barrel and the number of bottlings, so I think it's a teaspoon malt.
The contents are probably Laphroaig, and this is a bottle aged for 13 years in sherry hogshead.
My motto is to drink something and if it tastes good I'll buy it, but I didn't drink this one.
I bought it without drinking it.
Because it's an Islay sherry and you can tell from the deep color that it's delicious just by looking at it.
And if you can buy Islay sherry in this color for around 10,000 yen, you might as well buy it without drinking it.
Islay's dark sherry is recommended for those who like sweet smokiness, so it may be difficult to purchase a bottle of this from now on, but please keep an eye out for future releases.
6th bottle: Brutus Niigata Kameda Single Cask/Cask Strength
I'm from Niigata and my hometown is close to Kameda, so Niigata Kameda is my favorite distillery.
I'm sure many of you have purchased whisky, but this is Niigata Kameda, a single cask cask strength product for Brutus, which is available online and at a store in Osaka.
It was released at Brutus's tasting event, which was held in Osaka, so I wasn't able to attend, but it went on sale online the next day, so I bought it.
Since it is a mini bourbon barrel, I think the flavor is darker and more barrel-like than a regular bourbon barrel.
I haven't opened the bottle yet, but I will drink it when the time is right.
7th bottle: Niigata Kameda Nagoya Edition
It's Niigata Kameda again.
This is a single malt, so it's vatted, and water has been added to make it 55% alcohol.
What's interesting is that it has peat.
I have the impression that it is not a solid peat, but a slight peat that works as an accent.
Up until now, New Pot and New Born have released peat, but I think this is the first time for a whisky.
It is said that the second official release will be Pete, so how about preparing for it?
Niigata Kameda is being released more and more, such as Owner's Cask and other releases like this, but I will try to purchase as many as I can.
8th bottle: Ben Nevis 1996 27 years for Abyss x AQUA VITAE x SHINANOYA
This is Ben Nevis, distilled in 1996, which is said to be a successful year, released by Shinanoya.
There have been many releases of 96 Nevis this year, and in June's "Whiskey Talk Fukuoka 2025", these three bottles, two from Rudder and one from Shinanoya, were available for purchase or lottery application.
Out of these three bottles, this bottle has the most peach and fruit flavor, and I personally think it has the 96 Nevis feel.
I didn't have 96 Nevis, and I didn't know if it would be released in the future, and even if it did, it would be quite expensive, so I ordered this so I could secure it now.
I think I'll open it when the time is right.
9th bottle: Zanzibar Secret Speyside GL 1991 30 Years Hogshead
A German bottler from Zanzibar.
It is a secret speyside, but as the hint of GL is written, the contents are Glenlivet.
It is a series called the Künstler series, which has a picture of a distillery on the label, so it is possible to guess from this.
Distilled in 1991 and aged for 30 years, the most notable thing is the price.
30 year aged can be purchased for 43,000 yen, which I think is a bargain in this day and age.
I haven't tried this bottle, but in the past, a similar version of Grand Rivet was released from the same Zanzibar series, and it had a fruity taste typical of long-ripened Glen Rivet, so I thought it would be delicious as well, so I'll open it when the time is right.
10th: Savannah Grand Alorm Longtan for LMDW60th anniversary
It's not whiskey, it's rum.
It is a white rum as it looks.
I bought this because I don't have white rum, it was recommended to me as interesting, and since it's a commemorative La Maison bottle, I can't go wrong.
Closing Thoughts
I've been using it quite a bit over the last month, and while my wallet was slack due to theWhiskey Talk Fukuoka 2025order and the bonus month, I was able to come across some good releases and good bottles, so I went a long way. .
In normal years, there is a tendency for releases to be modest from August to October, and then to be released suddenly at the end of the year in November and December.
I used it too much last month and this month, so I'm planning to buy more sparingly from now on and prepare for the release at the end of the year, but I wonder if things will go as planned. .
With that in mind, please look forward to the next introduction of whiskey purchased in August 2025.
