1st bottle: TWC Borderless Gin Tokyo Riverside Distillery Edition
There was a tasting event for The Whiskey Crew (TWC), a referral-based whiskey sales site run by Whiskey, and I attended it.
We were able to sample nearly 30 different types, and since it was a tasting event, we were able to purchase a bottle if we thought it would be delicious, so we purchased it there.
It's not whiskey, it's gin.
This is a bottle from the Tokyo Riverside Distillery located in Kuramae, Tokyo.
I bought this because it was a refreshing cup with an easy-to-understand citrus taste and was delicious.
2nd bottle: TWC Borderless Gin Toranomon Distillery Edition
I also purchased this at the TWC tasting event.
It's not whiskey, it's gin.
As the name suggests, this is one of the Toranomon distilleries in Toranomon, Tokyo.
It tastes like citrus, but it has a more complex taste, and there are botanicals other than citrus, so I had the impression that it would be better to drink it straight or on the rocks, or on the stronger side.
It was also delicious, so I bought it.
3rd bottle: Kilkerran 8 Year Bourbon Cask
I also purchased this at the TWC tasting event.
It was not for tasting but for lottery, but I won even though I only bought two bottles of gin.
Sorry, thank you.
The 12 year old is a standard product, but it is a water-added type, and the 8 year old is a cask strength limited edition product that is released once a year.
I think I'll probably let it sit for about 3 years before drinking it.
4th: Whiskey Talk Fukuoka Togouchi
I tasted it at the ``Whiskey Talk Fukuoka 2025" held in June 2025.

A lottery was held and I was lucky to win.
The specifications are that it was distilled in 2020 and bottled in 2025, so it is aged for 4 or 5 years, and the barrel is a 1st fill bourbon barrel.
The alcohol content is 54%, which is cask strength, but the alcohol content has decreased compared to its age.
This is due to the fact that the humidity in the tunnel where Togouchi is aged reaches nearly 100% depending on the season, and the barrels absorb this moisture and naturally add water, resulting in this alcohol content.
It is not uncommon for the frequency to decrease over the years, and it may be one of the characteristics of Togouchi.
I haven't been able to open the bottle yet, but I think Togouchi has been delicious lately, so I'm looking forward to it.
5th: Shinanoya Wa Daruin 1997 23 years
This is Daruin from the Nagomi series, a collaboration between Shinanoya and The Whiskey Agency that was released around August 2024 last year.
The taste is fruity and delicious, with the full flavor of yellow fruits such as pineapple.
But. . Distilled in 1997 and aged for 23 years, it costs about 47,000 yen, which is close to 50,000 yen, which is a bit high.
If you purchase at Shinanoya's physical store, you will accumulate points.
If you add someone as a friend on LINE, you will receive 10x points coupons etc. on a regular basis.
Then, when I reached 500 points, I was issued a shopping ticket worth 500 yen, which I kept saving up and ended up with about 10,000 yen worth, so I started using it.
So, I was able to actually purchase it for 37,000 yen, so I decided to purchase it because I thought it would be good at this price.
You can still purchase it online and at some stores, so if you're interested, try it somewhere before purchasing because it's expensive but delicious.
6th bottle: Shinanoya Purple Haze Guyana Rum
It's not whiskey, it's rum.
Guyana rum from Shinanoya's Purple Haze series.
This is a bottle that was distilled in 1998 and aged for 22 years.
I received a recommendation from the staff that it was delicious, so I bought it without drinking it.
I have also accumulated several unopened bottles of rum, although not as many as whisky, so I plan to open and enjoy them.
7th bottle: Umaoi Distillery MYAOI GIN Berry Berry Gin
It's not whiskey, it's gin.
This is one for Gin Lab Japan.
I tasted it at "Hachioji Whiskey Street 2025” where I tasted it. It had a berry flavor reminiscent of Marukawa bubble gum from childhood candy shops, and it was so delicious that I bought a bottle.

Personally, I think a straight or strong soda would be best.
It sold out immediately when it first went on sale, and now it's available for purchase after being re-released in September, but the number is limited, so if you're interested, please hurry.
8th and 9th: Kanegasaki Passion Fruit Cule
This is a passion fruit liqueur from Kanegasaki Yakuso Sake Brewery in Iwate Prefecture.
It seems that a total of 200 kg of passion fruit from Miyakejima in Tokyo is used, and it has a very strong passion fruit feel, or rather, it is actually passion fruit.
The alcohol content is 18%, but you can feel the sweetness and sourness of passion fruit without feeling any alcohol attack.
It's good to enjoy the richness straight, and I think it's also delicious when mixed with soda to make a passion fruit juice or sour.
I don't know much about cocktails, but I think it can be used in cocktails as well.
It was so delicious that I bought two bottles, but you can still buy it now, so if you drink liqueurs, I think it's a good idea to buy it while you can.
10th bottle: M’s Tasting Room Blended Whiskey
It is sold in 100ml quantities, not in bottles.
『Hachioji Whiskey Street 2025” where I tried it and enjoyed its sweetness and fruitiness, so I also bought a measured portion of M's Tasting Room blended whisky.
Closing Thoughts
Whiskey releases normally slow down until mid-November, so I don't think there were any notable releases in September.
Kilkerran is a limited edition, but it's released every year, and Daluin is a past release, so I guess Togouchi is the best new release.
When I have time, I'd like to focus on past releases like Dal Yuin that are delicious but still available for purchase.
However, I bought a relatively long-aged bottle of a past release, so I think it was worth the price. .
Personally, I've been drinking gin and liqueurs lately, and while whiskey is delicious, I find it difficult to understand the complexity of the flavor.
On the other hand, gin and liqueurs are berries! Or passion fruit! It's easy to understand the taste and deliciousness.
And compared to whisky, it's extremely cheap.
Each bottle costs about 3,000 yen to 5,000 yen, so if you compare blended and official whiskeys, there are some in the same price range, but they are considerably cheaper than bottler's single cask types.
I think I'll buy something again in October, so please look forward to the introduction of the whiskey I bought in October that I'll be posting next month.
