The specialty is conger eel tempura.

Anago-ten Soba (Soba with Conger Eel Tempura)

Today, Albirex Niigata is playing an away game against Yokohama FC, and we are heading to Yokohama Station.

I thought the game started at 19:00, but when it was 18:00, I rushed out of the house.

If things continued like this, I was going to have to watch the game without eating anything, so I got off the train at Higashi-Kanagawa Station, one station before Yokohama Station, and went to ``Nichieiken”.

I ordered the famous "Conger eel tempura soba (700 yen)”.

You can choose between soba and udon, and of course I chose soba.

The rice bowl arrived in about 3 minutes after handing over the food ticket.

Let's get it then.

Soba Noodles

It has a pretty crumbly texture, and if you don't eat it with water or soup, it will get stuck in your throat.

The texture is crumbly and you can see the lumps of soba, so I thought that the flavor was strong due to the high proportion of buckwheat flour. .

The flavor was washed away by the soup and the oil from the conger eel, so I could barely taste it. .

Tsuyu (Dipping Broth)

Kaeshi is working hard.

The saltiness comes first, followed by the sweetness of the mirin and the aroma of the bonito stock.

Anago-ten (Conger Eel Tempura)

As expected, it wasn't freshly fried.

Conger eel has no odor at all.

Even if you eat it at a reasonably priced tempura restaurant, conger eel can have a strong odor, but is it possible to do this at this price? . At the first sip, I felt something close to excitement.

I noticed this after taking the second bite. .

The batter is more than three times as thick as the conger eel, and I think this eliminates the smell. .

Or rather, it tastes more like conger eel, batter, or oil. .

I wish it didn't have a bad smell, but it gave the impression that I was eating a chunk of tempura, and the second half was quite tough. .

The yuzu peel is included, which will refresh you for a moment, but the battle with the thick batter will come again. .

Impressions and Rating

I'm sorry, but it didn't suit me personally. .

The soba noodles were crumbly, the soup had too much flavor, and the batter on the conger eel was too thick. .

Even considering that it's standing-up soba or station soba, I personally didn't like it beyond the level of being able to see a lot of it.

Even if I didn't choose conger eel tempura, I don't like soba, and even if I choose udon instead of soba, I don't like the sauce, so I don't think I can expect much from the other menus.

Along with my Albirex Niigata team, Yokohama FC has also been relegated to J2, so I will have the opportunity to go to Yokohama Station next season as well. .

I wonder if I will visit again. .

Overall: ★★★☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ (3)
Taste: ★★★☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ (3)
Cost performance: ★★★★★☆☆☆☆☆ (5)
Revisited: ★☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ (1)

Summary

  • Station soba on Higashi-Kanagawa Station platforms 3 and 4
  • Conger eel tempura is a specialty
  • Soba is crumbly
  • Conger eel tempura is almost coated
  • Considering that it's standing-up soba and station soba, I can't see much of it, and I don't recommend it.
