[A Reasonable Amount!?] Whiskies Purchased in November 2025 [YouTube Video]

1st bottle: Scarlet Fioria Maro

It's not a whisky, it's a liqueur.

Amaro is an herbal liqueur that originated in Italy.

It is made at Iseya Sake Brewery in Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, and its brand name is Scarlet.

This bottle was created to commemorate Scarlet's 100th preparation. Fiori means flowers, and flowers are used as botanicals.

I haven't opened the bottle yet, but I'm really looking forward to it.

2nd bottle: Shinanoya Ann Orkney 2006 18 years

It's Unorkney, so it's Highland Park inside.

And as it looks, it's a sherry barrel.

I tasted it before I bought it and it's a combination of raisins, antique furniture, leather, heather honey, apples, peat, seaweed, nuts and Highland Park characteristics with a sherry without the negatives.

You can feel the complexity of the Highland Park and Sherry barrels while expressing their respective characteristics.

Still, the price was less than 20,000 yen (tax included) for an 18-year aged bottle, so I bought it because it was a bargain at about 1,000 yen for the number of years it was aged.

Since it is a bat, there are a certain number of them and you can still purchase them, but if you are interested, please do so as soon as possible.

3rd bottle: MYAOI GIN I do it for you

It's not whiskey, it's gin.

This gin is made with candied citrus peel coated in chocolate, so it is said to be reminiscent of orangette, making it a gin with chocolate and orange flavors.

I tried this when I attended a seminar in November, and I ordered it because it had a strong chocolate flavor and was delicious.

Of course you can enjoy it straight, with soda, or tonic, but you can also enjoy it in a variety of ways, such as with Mitsuya cider or hot milk.

Unfortunately, President Murata's retirement was announced the other day.

Although he is retiring, the Umaoi Distillery will not disappear, so we look forward to continuing to release delicious gin, liqueurs, and whisky.

4th bottle: Shinanoya Brix 2020

It's not whiskey, it's rum.

This is an Australian rum distilled in 2020 and aged for 5 years.

I haven't tried it, but I had heard that it was delicious, so I bought it anyway since it was cheap.

This is one that I look forward to opening.

5th bottle: Shinanoya TDL 2003 22 years Rum and Whiskey

It's not whiskey, it's rum.

2003 distilled TDL, Trinidad.

It was a bottle for the famous store Rum and Whiskey Kyoto, and since it was a hit year and it was for Rum and Whiskey Kyoto, it was covered by insurance, so I bought it without drinking it.

Last year, there was a 2003 distillation and TDL for Capadonic in Shinbashi with similar specifications, so I think there is insurance in this sense as well.

This is another one that I'm looking forward to opening.

6th bottle: Whiskey Talk Fukuoka Tsunuki

I tasted it at the ``Whiskey Talk Fukuoka” This is an event limited bottle.

[An Amazing Event!!] Whisky Talk Fukuoka 2025 Report [YouTube Video Included]

It was distilled in 2021 and bottled in 2025, so it is a bottle that has been aged for 3 or 4 years.

This unblended sake uses liquid yeast, following the one for the Chichibu Whiskey Festival, Rudder's Hyakusei Fuma, and Sake no Smile in Kumamoto.

Tsunuki made with liquid yeast is extremely fruity and delicious.

On top of that, it is aged in ruby port barrels, giving it a finish that will give you a sweet and fruity taste.

A lottery was held, and I was able to win and purchase it.

Tsunuki won at Whiskey Talk Fukuoka last year, and I would like to thank him for continuing to win this year as well.

We look forward to working with you in 2026.

7th bottle: Asaya Shoten Highland Single Malt 2011 14 years

This Highland single malt was distilled in 2011 in the PB of Asaya Shoten, a famous liquor store in Chichibu, and aged for 14 years.

It's called Highland Single Malt, but it's actually Macallan, so it's called Wakkaran.

I tasted it at the Whiskey Festival in Tokyo held the other day, and the taste is exactly as the label always says, with a berry-like flavor, and a hint of ginger and cinnamon spice.

I thought it was a good buy considering the taste of Wakkaran Katsuko and the price.

8th bottle: The Whiskey Hoop Glencadam 2004 20 years

Glen Cadam from The Whiskey Hoop's Japanese paper label.

This is a 20 year aged bottle distilled in 2004.

Normally, The Whiskey Hoop only sells to members, and recruitment of new members is currently suspended.

allows non-members to purchase some of their products, and this Glen Cadam is also eligible for this, and Glen Cadam is one of my favorite distilleries, so I especially liked the bourbon barrel Glen Cadam.

I bought it without drinking it, but I'm sure it will be delicious.

We own the first Glen Cadam bourbon barrel aged over 20 years.

If it's around 10 years old, there will be a release once a year, but if it's around 20 years old, there won't be many releases. .

Calvador releases medium-aged sherry barrels around 15 to 20 years old every year, but personally, Glen Cadam is a bourbon barrel.

Nowadays, I don't think Glen Cadam in a sherry barrel is bad, so I might buy it. .

I'm looking forward to a long-ripened release from Glen Cadam in bourbon barrels from somewhere.

Closing Thoughts

Since it's the end of the year, the number and price have gone up, but I think it's relatively cheap compared to previous years.

I could have bought a large release, such as one bottle costing over 50,000 yen, but the higher the price, the higher the hurdles required, and I don't think there was a bottle that could overcome that hurdle.

Or even if it was, it would be hard to pay over 100,000 yen per bottle. . That's what it feels like.

My motto is to buy something if it tastes good, but this month I think it's important to reflect on the fact that there were several bottles I ended up buying without drinking them due to their popularity or specs. .

I've been buying a lot of things in 2025, but I've managed to save up more than enough whiskey to last me for the rest of my life.

I think I will probably buy less in 2026 because the corner where I keep opened bottles is full and I don't have enough space to store unopened bottles at home. .

First of all, I will prioritize consumption, but I think I will still be very selective, but I think I will purchase something in 2026, so I would like to introduce it if I purchase it again.

Well then, thank you for 2025.

We look forward to working with you in 2026.
