This time, we will introduce some delicious whiskeys that we bought in September 2024 or drank at bars.
1st: Cheers Glenburgie 1995-2018
1995, released by Kanpai-kai, is one of Glenburgie's highly anticipated years.
What's a little interesting is that it was removed from the barrel in 2018 and was kept in a tank for 5-6 years.
Therefore, the age of aging is indicated at the stage when it is taken out of the barrel, so it is aged in 2018/23 years.
When freshly poured, it had a slightly fruity impression, but as time passes, the tropical elements become more apparent.
As the label says, I tasted shaved ice syrup, strawberries, and white flowers.
The aftertaste was a little sticky with sugar and nutty.
2nd: ACORN Clynelish 2010 13 years
This is a Clyne Riche distilled in 2010 and aged for 13 years, released by ACORN.
It's an acorn label, so you can look forward to it.
It had a sweet taste and aroma of banana and tropical fruits.
It's delicious as a fruity whisky, but is this a Clynelish? . ! ? Personally, I was left with this question.
Until now, this was a bottle that didn't feel like Clynelish at all, including the official and bottlers, and it was a bottle that would change my sense of values.
3rd: Saburomaru 2019-2024 5 year barrel for SHINANOYA
This is a single cask of Saburomaru released by Shinanoya.
Since it was distilled in 2019 and Saburomaru II, it will be the unblended sake when ZEMON (distiller) starts using it.
It had yellow fruits and a bit of peat, with a taste reminiscent of a medium-ripe Laphroaig.
So far, Saburomaru's official bottles have not come off as a whole, but I had the impression that single casks often come off.
This bottle was one of the best among the single casks, and I think it tastes even better than the official bottle.
A lottery sale was held, but I was unable to win and purchase. .
4th bottle: Kyoto Fine Wine and Sprits Glen Moray 2007 15 years
This is Glen Moray released by Kyoto Fine Wine and Sprits.
2007 is said to be a successful year for Glen Moray, with many delicious bottles being produced.
This was a delicious bottle that symbolized a successful year, with notes of barley, white flowers, fruit, and black tea, and packed with all the goodness you'd expect from Glen Moray aged around 15 years.
Personally, it was one of the best tasting 2007 Glen Morays I've ever had.
The only thing that bothers me is the price, which is 24,200 yen per bottle. .
If it was in the low 10,000 yen range, I would have bought it right away, but considering the recent price hikes, it may have been a difficult request. .
I was a little hesitant because of the high price, but since there were only 160 outturns, it was sold out. .
5th bottle; Penderlin 8 Year Old 2016 Peated Quarter Cask for Bar Speak Easy Gifu
Located in GifuSpeak Easy” This is a private bottle for Mr.
Penderlin is a whiskey made in Wales.
Speaking of Wales,Gareth Bale', but after I started drinking whisky, 'pendarin' was added there.
Penderin has a chemical fruit element, and this bottle perfectly embodies that characteristic.
Loch Lomond also has chemical fruit elements, but I felt something similar to that.
In the second half, there was a bit of peat and a sugar-like sweetness on the finish.
It was completely unmarked, but it was delicious.
Closing Thoughts
In September 2024, I was able to find a bottle that was quite delicious, although some of the things I was expecting were not to my personal taste.
I hope to continue going to bars in October 2024 and finding delicious bottles.
