1st bottle: Niigata Kameda Distillery Newborn Whiskey Talk Fukuoka 2024 event limited bottle
Held in June 2024, “Whiskey Talk Fukuoka 2024This is a Newborn bottle from Niigata Kameda Distillery, which is limited to an event.
The specs are that it was distilled in 2022 and bottled in 2024, so I think it will be aged for 1 to 2 years.
The alcohol content is 61% cask strength.
I'm from Niigata and it's close to my hometown, so Niigata Kameda Distillery is my favorite distillery, and I try to buy anything related to Newborn when it's released.
A lottery was held for the sale, and I was able to win and purchase it.
I haven't opened the bottle yet, but I plan on opening it and drinking it someday.
In 2024, Niigata Kameda Distillery will have been in production for three years, and the "Whiskey Festival 2024 in Tokyo' will be released as the first single malt in an event-limited bottle.
By the way, it seems that general sales nationwide as a single malt were scheduled for sometime in 2024, but due to a mistake in ordering the bottle cap, it seems to have been pushed back to around February or March 2025.
Even if it becomes a single malt, I will continue to collect as much as I can.
2nd bottle: Buffalo Trace Single Barrel for Shinanoya
This is a Buffalo Trace single barrel released by Shinanoya.
I think the aging period is 8 years and 5 months, which is a long time for a bourbon.
The alcohol content is 45%, so it's a hydrated type.
It's been a while since I bought bourbon.
Basically, I don't like bourbon, and I was wondering if I could somehow overcome it.
I drank the official Buffalo Trace straight at a whiskey event and thought it might work, so I was thinking about buying it, but about a year had passed. .
I immediately opened the bottle and drank it straight, and it was delicious, with hints of orange on the palate, and a vanilla and bourbon-specific sweetness from the second half.

As far as premium bourbons and single barrels are concerned, I think I'm getting over my dislike of bourbons, so I'd like to continue drinking them at whiskey events and buying some bourbons in the future.
Closing Thoughts
Although I didn't participate in any whiskey events in September 2024, I did go out to bars every once in a while and drank some of the popular whisky.
However, there are some brands that are delicious but expensive or difficult to obtain, so I couldn't find a whiskey that I was interested in purchasing, so I feel like I ended up paying less because I didn't buy bottler's whisky.
I will continue to drink whiskey in October 2024, and I have come across and purchased some delicious whiskeys, so I would like to introduce them to you separately.
