Kobe Sauna & Spa
Speaking of saunas in Kobe, ``Kobe Sauna & Spa”.

Drama “Sa Road 2021 (Season 2)It is also famous for being a facility that appeared in ``

This time, “Whiskey Harbor Kobe 2024I used it as an overnight stay when I participated in a whiskey event called ``, so I'm going to review it!

sauna
There are three types of saunas.
- main sauna
- finnish sauna
- salt sauna
There is also a bedrock bath called hammam.
main sauna
This is the largest main sauna.
As soon as you enter the sauna room, there is a sauna mat on the right side, so lay it out and enter.
Or you can wear sauna pants.
The sauna has 3 levels, and since you can feel the outside air when the door opens and closes on the first level (bottom level), it seems best to sit on the second level or above.
Every hour (8:00, 9:00,...) from 8:00 to 22:00, the L'Olyu and Aufguss services are held.
Every 30 minutes after the hour (8:30, 9:30,...), an ice aroma roll is held.
I've received Loryu service a couple of times, and the two-person system gave me a good breeze.
I think the sauna room is large enough to accommodate about 30 people, so I didn't get the impression that the Louryu service was too crowded to receive it.
However, I had the impression that in order to secure my favorite spot, such as the top row, I needed to reserve it about 5 to 10 minutes in advance.
finnish sauna
It's quite dark and the size is likely to be full with about 10 people.
The temperature felt quite high.
A sauna mat is placed immediately after entering the sauna room.
The floor was getting pretty hot, so it seemed like a good idea to take two layers and put them on your feet as well.
Also, self-rolling is possible.
A vihta is placed before entering the sauna room, and you can use it yourself.
I used the main sauna when I was at Louryu, and the Finnish sauna except for Louryu.
salt sauna
There is also a salt sauna where you apply salt to your body.
Although the temperature is low, the effect of the salt will help you sweat.
There is a special shower at the exit of the salt sauna, so be sure to wash off the salt before exiting.
water bath
There are two types of water baths.
- Water bath (low temperature)
- Water bath (high temperature)
Water bath (low temperature)
The main cold bath is located in the open-air space.
It is also a well-known story that the water temperature was set at 11.7 degrees Celsius, with the hope that the memory of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, which occurred on January 17, 1995, should not be forgotten.
11.7℃ is a good temperature for those who are used to saunas, but it is a hard setting for those who are not used to saunas or who do not like cold baths.
Water bath (high temperature)
For those who are not used to saunas or who do not like cold baths, there is also a hot water bath in the room at a temperature of 23℃.
I used this cold bath first thing in the morning and after taking a salt sauna.
rest spot
There are 4 chairs indoors and 10 benches and chairs in the outdoor space.
I had the impression that I could secure a spot at any of the locations except after the Loryu service.
Also, depending on the timing, a staff member would hold you up with a towel to blow the air.
bath
There are 3 types of baths.
The biggest feature is that all baths use natural hot springs.
However, the quality of the spring water is smooth and there is no sulfur smell, so I don't think you would know it is a hot spring unless you are told.
Another feature is that hot water flows at the entrance of the bathroom.
- bangalian bus
- open-air bath
- Jacuzzi
bangalian bus
This is a large circular bath located in the center of the room.
Personally, I used the sauna by taking a bath before heading to the sauna room.
open-air bath
There is also an open-air bath.
It felt great to soak in the open-air bath when my body had cooled down a bit after taking a bath in the open air.
Jacuzzi
It's located at the back of the bathroom.
I think people who like jacuzzis should use it.
In-house wear
A unique feature is that the bottom of the in-house wear is sauna pants.
Therefore, even in the dining room or inside the capsule, you will have to wear sauna pants underneath.
Also, only sauna pants are kept on the 6th floor, where the changing rooms are located, and indoor clothes are kept in the capsule area on the 5th floor or in the bathroom on the 7th floor.
capsule hotel
This time I stayed for 2 nights and used the upper berth of the capsule.
The upper tier of capsules costs about 200 yen per night.
I usually choose the upper tier to prevent noise, so I would appreciate it if it were cheaper.
The equipment inside the capsule is a TV.
Lighting, TV, and alarm settings can be configured on the control panel.
There are also electrical outlets available.
Up to this point, it seems like the facilities of a normal capsule, but I am grateful that I can get a bottle of water for free.
There is a curtain at the entrance of the capsule, so you can't see what's inside.
However, some light from outside leaks in, and snoring can be heard, so there is no soundproofing effect.
Points to note ①: The width of the locker is narrow
The width of the locker is narrow.
I think you will have to leave large luggage such as suitcases at the front desk.
My backpack couldn't fit in the locker at Welby Imaike, but it just barely fit here if I crushed it, so it seems to be a little wider than Welby Imaike.
Note ②: Bathroom cleaning time is from 9:00 to 12:00
Bathroom cleaning time is from 9:00 to 12:00.
However, you can still use the bathroom during this time.
Please note that the water in the bathtub may be drained for cleaning.
Point to note ③: Dial-type locker in the bathroom area
There is a small locker with a 4-digit dial in the bathroom, but you can see what's inside, so I'm concerned about security.
Personally, I don't want to leave valuables like my smartphone in here, so I put them in a locker.
The 5th floor is a capsule room, the 6th floor is a locker/changing room, the 7th floor is a bathroom, and the 8th floor is a restaurant/rest space.
So, if you want to go to a restaurant after taking a bath or sauna, you will have to move from the 7th floor to the 6th floor, take your smartphone out of the locker, and then head to the 8th floor, where you will have to go 1DOWN and 2UP.
There is an elevator, but it's only one, so I think it's faster to take the stairs than wait.
Although it's selfish of me not to put my smartphone in the bathroom locker. .
It would be more troublesome if something were stolen, so I moved it myself.
restaurant
The restaurant menu was quite extensive.
Bottle beer + meatballs
First, I'll quench my thirst with a bottle of beer.
I had the famous meat dumplings.
The meatballs were flavored with star anise and had a meaty texture, making them a great snack.
I actually wanted to eat a little more, but the person next to me was the type who ate while making noise, which made it uncomfortable, so I ended it.
breakfast
Capsule guests can enjoy free breakfast.
It was a buffet style restaurant with a wide variety of items.
The thing I was most happy about was the miso soup with clams.
customer base
The customer base in the bathroom seemed to range from young people, probably students, to people in their 50s.
There were no noisy conversations in the bathroom, probably because staff were frequently in and out of the bathroom.
The customer base for lodging and dining at the restaurant seemed to be older, around 40-50.
There were older people who ate while making noise at restaurants, and people who had conversations in and around the capsule room, so I felt that the customer base was a bit negative.
As for the customer base, I think it depends on timing and luck.
There is another store in Kobe, “Kobe KurhouseThere used to be a famous store called ``, but due to the deterioration of the building, it will be closed for a long time as of March 31, 2024.
So, I think it's possible that people who originally used Kobe Kurhouse are now coming to Kobe Sauna & Spa, and the age group is a little older.
Overall Assessment
Considering that it has hot springs and saunas, an extensive restaurant menu, and free breakfast service, I think it is comparable to Wellbe Imaike, which I personally think is the No. 1 facility.
Although I may be selfish, I think it is inferior to Welby Imaike in this respect because it has dial-type lockers and requires unnecessary movement.
There is no doubt that it is a good sauna facility, so I plan to use it when I visit Kobe.
