Hidakaya

『Hidakaya” is a ramen/Chinese chain that operates mainly in the Kanto region.

The most orthodox Hidakaya Chinese Soba (Ramen) costs a whopping 420 yen, so you can eat ramen at a bargain price.

There is also a wide selection of side dishes such as gyoza and stir-fried dishes, as well as an alcoholic menu, so drinking alcohol at Hidakaya has recently become popular.

It's a restaurant that can be called an ally of Donbei, not only for lunch and dinner, but also for breakfast as many of the stores are open 24 hours.

Ordering and Payment

How to order: Order from a tabletop tablet
Payment methods: cash, credit card, various electronic money, QR code

The store I visited ordered from a tablet on the table.

The menu is divided into tabs for categories such as ramen, snacks, and drinks, so I didn't have any trouble finding the menu I wanted to order.

Menu I received: Bottled beer + 2 snacks + Abura soba

This time, I used it as a finishing touch after drinking.

Before entering the restaurant, I thought it would be a light meal, but ended up ordering two appetizers and thoroughly enjoyed Hidakaya's drinks, so I would like to introduce the menu I received this time.

Bin Beeru (Bottled Beer)

First of all,Bottled beer (520 yen)” It starts from.

I'm glad that chain stores like this also carry bottled beer.

The brand is Kirin Ichiban Shibori, which is personally my favorite brand.

Assorted three dishes

The first snack item is ``Assorted three dishes (370 yen)” was selected.

The three dishes include menma, kimchi, and yakitori with green onions.

This is a ramen chain restaurant, so the menma has a consistent taste.

Although the kimchi has the impression of being lightly pickled, the refreshing impression is not bad either.

I think the flavor of yakitori is closest to what you would imagine of canned yakitori.

If it were served at a yakitori restaurant, you would be shocked, but this is a ramen chain restaurant.

It has enough flavor to drink alone.

Stir-fried starburst

The second snack item is ``Stir-fried starburst (600 yen)” was selected.

Pork belly, chives, bean sprouts, and cabbage are stir-fried with kimchi-style seasoning.

It's kimchi-style, with a bit more of a soy sauce flavor, and the exquisite taste of stir-fried starburst rather than pork kimchi.

Hidakaya's stir-fried dishes and tanmen dishes, which are rich in vegetables, are prepared using a wok, so the aroma and flavor are similar to those found in other Chinese restaurants in town.

Ramen without soup

After thinking about the ending, I decided, ``Ramen without soup (640 yen)” was selected.

Think of it as ramen without soup, or ramen with abura soba, or something like that.

The biggest feature of this menu is that it comes with 1.5 balls of noodles by default.

I remember eating a lot of it when I was a new graduate because it was cheap and filling.

As for the taste, it has the impression of fishmeal and maple powder, and the fishmeal gives a strong impression of a knotty seafood flavor.

Noodles

The noodles are the same as other ramen.

It has a chewy texture and is not bad.

Chashu (Braised Pork)

The char siu is melty.

It's okay if you don't have it, but I'd be happy if you had it.

Warm balls

Another feature is that hot balls are toppings by default.

At restaurants that serve soupless ramen and abura soba, you often have to pay for toppings, but since you'll be ordering them anyway, it's nice to have them included by default.

It is served separately, so you can add it later to enjoy the different flavors.

I think if the yolk was a little more runny, it would blend better with the noodles.

vinegar

Another essential ingredient for soupless ramen and abura soba is vinegar.

Since there is no soup, the seasoning is strong, so you may get tired of the taste.

In such a case, adding some vinegar from the table will give a refreshing impression and revive your appetite.

Personally, vinegar is a must.

You can also add chili oil and pepper to give it a more junky flavor, and if you ask the staff you can get grated garlic, so we also recommend these.

Impressions and Rating

The bill was 2,130 yen for a bottle of beer, 2 snacks, and ramen without soup.

I think it's quite a bit of money for Hidakaya. .

The price includes drinks, snacks, and a final meal, so I think it would cost over 3,000 yen at other ramen restaurants.

The appeal of Hidakaya is that it can be done within this amount of money.

The most important thing is the taste. .

To be honest, many of Hidakaya's menu items have the same quality as those sold at supermarkets and convenience stores, and since you don't have to prepare or clean up, I get the impression that you can eat them for 20-30% more.

However, if you carefully select the menu, such as the stir-fried starburst that I ordered this time, which is cooked in a wok, you can find a menu that surpasses that of a supermarket or convenience store.

If you live in the Kanto region, I think it would be interesting to use on a daily basis, and if you are outside of the Kanto region, it would be interesting to visit when you visit Kanto on a trip.

Overall: ★★★⯪☆ (3.0)

Cost performance: ★★★⯪☆ (3.5)
Revisit: ★★★☆☆ (3.0)
