Introduction to whiskey purchased in March 2025
This time, I would like to introduce the whiskey I purchased in March 2025, as I do every month.
Introducing the whiskey purchased in February 2025.here』。

1st: Signatory 100proof Glen Ord 2012
Glen Ord is one of Signatory's 100 proof series.
Distilled in 2012 and aged for 11 years in 1st fill bourbon barrels.
Since it is UK100 proof, the alcohol content has been adjusted to 57.1%, so water is added, but it is almost cask strength.
After hearing all this, I think it's a typical spec for a short-lived model, but the most noteworthy point is the price, which is an unbelievable 7,260 yen.
It's delicious straight, but I personally like the highball as well, and it's a bottle that has a strong barley flavor and a fruity taste.
This bottle has become a hot topic due to its low price and deliciousness, so it may be difficult to purchase from now on, but if you see it at a bar, please give it a try.
There are other products in the 100 proof series, and they all cost around 7,000 to 8,000 yen, so I think they're perfect for people who are buying Bottler's for the first time.
2nd and 3rd: Niigata Kameda Zodiac Sign Series Pisces
I'm from Niigata, and since it's close to my hometown, this is the first release from Niigata Kameda Distillery, which is my favorite distillery.
Maybe that's why I bought two.
First of all, I know it's a bit late, but congratulations on your first release.
As part of the Zodiac sign series, Pisces and Pisces are being released this time.
There are pros and cons about labels, and when I look at social media, I see a lot of negative opinions. .
The label is based on the person imagined by this whisky.
The house style is easy to understand as it uses mainly bourbon barrels, and the taste is a bottle that has a strong honey taste, so I think it's delicious even without the preconceptions that it's a distillery.
Straight is good, but highball is also delicious.
The average price for a bottle from Shinko Distillery is around 15,000 to 20,000 yen, but the price is less than 10,000 yen excluding tax, and around 11,000 yen including tax.
Seminars were held at various locations in March, and I attended several of them, where I heard a variety of topics from labels to prices and future developments.
There is a lot of commitment and thought put into every aspect of the distillery, and I think this is a distillery that I will continue to support.
Even if you don't buy it, I highly recommend trying it at least once at a bar or at an event.
4th bottle: Niigata Kameda Owner's Cask kagaya
This is another bottle from Niigata Kameda Distillery.
At the beginning of the distillery's founding, there was a call for owners' casks.
Recruitment has recently resumed.
Basically, liquor stores and bars apply, and once the bottle is bottled and delivered to the owner, the owner is free to sell or provide it.
This time, the owner is kagaya, who mainly sells smoking equipment, and it will be released from there.
The price is 12,000 yen, which is cheap for a single cask strength Japanese whisky.
I think the release of owner's casks from Niigata Kameda Distillery will increase in the future, so I'll try to buy as many as possible and follow them.
5th and 6th: Scarlet Orange Amaro
It's not whiskey, it's liqueur.
I've bought two of these.
Scarlet is an herbal liqueur.
This is Orange Amaro, released around March every year, and it is said that each bottle contains the juice of 15 blood oranges, giving you a very fresh orange taste.
It's delicious straight, but personally I think it's better with soda.
There are many different types of scarlet, from sweet and fruity to bitter, and I think scarlet itself is becoming more popular year by year.
I think orange and peach are especially popular among scarlets.
You can drink it on a regular basis, but personally, I like to drink whiskey straight and finish it off with a herbal liqueur.
It may be difficult to buy Orange Amaro from now on, but if you see it, you should buy it, and if you see it at a bar, it's definitely one you should try.
Closing Thoughts
I think this month was the release of Niigata Kameda's first release.
Last year, the first release from Ikawa Distillery was released, and I think there were also releases from Niigata Kameda and the newer Hanyu.
I think the first release of Japanese whiskey promotion distilleries will continue to be released from now on.
Shindo and Kusumi have already been released when distillation begins in 2021, and Yamaga and others are expected to be released in the fall of 2025.
I hear that resellers are leaving whiskey and that the whiskey boom is coming to an end.
Also, I'm starting to feel that it's becoming easier to buy Japanese products, which used to be difficult to buy. .
However, I think that the positive news of the first release will continue, so it will be difficult financially to buy everything, but I hope that I can drink it at bars and events without having to buy it.
I hope everyone will give it a try.
We will also be purchasing whiskey in April 2025, so please look forward to it as we will introduce it separately.
