Top 5 delicious standing soba restaurants in 2025
We will introduce the top 3 delicious standing soba restaurants in 2025.
Last year in 2024, I realized the appeal of standing soba noodles and visited various shops.
This year in 2025, I haven't been able to visit much, with less than 20 drinks, but I was still able to meet some restaurants that I thought were delicious, so I'd like to introduce the top 3 restaurants that were delicious.
In addition, I visited two restaurants that I visited last year and thought were delicious, and since they were delicious, I would like to introduce two restaurants that will be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
3rd place: Fujimi Soba Down Branch
On the conventional line outbound platform of Shizuoka Station,Fujimi Soba Down Branch” was chosen as third place.

The first characteristic is that it is an open counter type store located on a platform.
Due to the risk of food poisoning and heat stroke, public health centers rarely permit new stores to open, so only existing stores remain.
Compounding this problem is the aging of store staff and a shortage of human resources, and the number of existing stores is decreasing rapidly.
What I received at this store was ``Fishball soba (650 yen)”.
The soba noodles and soup were delicious.
There was something particularly refreshing about the warm soup served under the cold skies with the temperature around 2 degrees Celsius.
The fishball topping tasted like kamaboko, and honestly I think I made the wrong choice. .
I felt it would be better to choose kakiage or meat soba.
I think the day will come when you won't be able to slurp soba at the open counter, so I recommend visiting while it still exists.
2nd place: Momonakaken Gotemba store
Right after exiting the Fujisan exit (west exit) of Gotemba Station,Momonakaken Gotemba Station” was chosen as second place.

The store was full of locals.
What I received at this store was ``Mishima croquette soba (510 yen)”.

You could see the cooking process, and the soba noodles, green onions, and croquettes were frozen. .
Soba noodles are often frozen, but I was wondering if even the green onions were frozen. .
The grassy smell of the green onions contrasted with the sweetness of the soup, creating a nice balance.
The main croquettes are frozen and fried on the spot, and served fresh.
It takes a little longer to serve, but you can enjoy the steamy croquettes with the sweetness of the potatoes and the flavor of the meat.
I think they chose frozen for cost and ingredient management reasons, but this was a cup that made me think that freezing isn't a bad idea.
Even if you don't go to Gotemba Station, there are stores at Numazu Station platform and Mishima Station (conventional line/Shinkansen platform), so if you're in the area, please visit.
1st place: Tenka soba
Tsukiji is a shop located just outside Exit 4 of Tsukiji Station on the Hibiya Line.Tenka soba” was chosen as number one.

The store was filled with many people who worked nearby.
What I received at this store was ``Shungikuten soba (530 yen)”.
The soup is said to be aged and has a strong umami flavor.
Naga yam is used to bind the soba noodles, giving it a smooth slurping sensation and a unique chewiness.
Shungikuten contains not only the leaves but also the stems, which is my personal preference as the texture and bitterness are more impressive when the stems are included.
The tsuyu, soba, and shungiku tempura are all of high quality, so I chose them in first place.
Although it is difficult for office workers to visit this store as it is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, it is definitely a store you should definitely visit.
Hall of Fame: Sayaka Soba
『Soba Sayaka” is a cup that shocked me when I visited last year in 2024.

The soba noodles are well-cooked and thick, topped with pork, plenty of green onions, and sesame seeds.
This restaurant is known as Minato-ya Inspire, where the thick soup is drizzled with chili oil and one free raw egg is served.
Regardless of whether or not it can be called standing-eating soba, the restaurant itself is a soba restaurant where you can eat while standing, so I classify it as one type of standing-eating soba.
I visited twice this year, and both times were consistently delicious.
『Hiyashi Niku Soba (Chilled Meat Soba)” is a must-order, and “Kuromai mushroom tempura bowl” is also one item that you should definitely try.
The quality of the side menu is high, and new menu items are added from time to time, making this a restaurant you'll want to visit regularly.
However, due to the location of Shiodome, which is a business district, it is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays due to the sharp drop in traffic, making it a little more difficult to visit.
However, it seems to be open once a month on Sunday, so even if you have Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays off, you still have a chance to visit.
In fact, I think it's a store that you can even use your annual vacation to visit.
Hall of Fame: Hanayuu
『Hanayuu' is a shop located in front of Ohanabatake Station in Chichibu.

This is a cup I visited last year in 2024 and was shocked at how cheap it was.
This shop uses ago-dashi (flying fish stock) in its dipping sauce, giving it one or two levels more umami than other standing soba restaurants.
And then, “Tentama soba (450 yen)” I was also shocked by the price.
It's tempura.
Not only that, but there are also eggs.
The size of the soba noodles is about 70-80% of what you would get at a regular restaurant, which seems a bit small, but even considering that, it's still cheap.
And of course it's delicious.
Chichibu is famous for its soba, so I tend to go to the 100 percent soba restaurant, but if you have a little stomach to spare, I highly recommend you visit this restaurant as well.
Impressions
In 2025, I had a little less than 20 bowls of standing soba noodles.
I had been thinking of actively visiting in 2025. .
The result was a decrease of 10 cups from just under 30 cups in 2024. .
The number of visits was disappointing due to people not feeling like going out due to the intense heat, and people going on a diet around the end of the year. .
I'd like to go to a famous soba restaurant, but the difficult part about visiting stand-up soba restaurants is that many of them are closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
Also, some stores are closing down due to aging staff, so it's a good idea to visit famous stores as soon as possible.
I would like to visit at least 30 cups in 2026, but what will happen? . !?
