Urban Spa
I used "Urban Spa" in Hon-Atsugi.
This is a spa facility directly managed by Atsugi Urban Hotel, located about a 4-minute walk from Hon-Atsugi Station.
The facility is located semi-underground and has a somewhat hidden atmosphere.
This time I used it for a day trip, so I will write a review.
sauna
There are two types of saunas.
- Dry sauna
- Steam sauna
There is a beat board before entering the sauna room, so you can use it by laying it down.
It is a self-service type that you can wash and return after use.
Dry sauna
The dry sauna is spacious and has a TV.
Face-to-face type with two tiers on one side only.
The temperature was around 90℃.
It's spacious enough that I was able to use it without feeling cramped.
Comes with a TV, so you can stay in it for a long time.
Steam sauna
There is also a steam sauna, although I did not use it this time.
As I was watching people coming in and going out, I saw a fluffy kemuri, so I feel a little regretful that I should have come in.
water bath
There is one type of water bath.
The water temperature is 15℃, which is quite cold.
It was large enough to accommodate about 5 people, so it never felt crowded during our stay.
rest spot
There are 6 chairs in the bathroom.
I'm glad that there are chairs for resting.
The window closest to the steam sauna is open, so you can take a break as if you were actually bathing in the outside air.
It's May, and it's the season when it feels nice to take a bath in the outside air.
It feels so much better to be able to take a break in a place where the fresh air comes in.
We also never had to wait during our stay.
bath
There is also a bath.
In addition to the sauna and cold bath, I am grateful that I can slowly warm up in the bath.
Although the facility itself is located semi-underground, the bathroom was spacious enough and I was able to use it quite comfortably until after 2:00 pm.
If it is not crowded, you can enjoy the sauna, cold bath, rest, and bath at your leisure.
rest space
There were 3 massage chairs and 8 electric reclining chairs in the rest area.
The facilities are sufficient for a relaxing rest after sauna.
If the bathroom becomes crowded, it might be a good idea to retreat to the rest area, change the timing, and then head back to the bathroom.
Food and drink
Meals are not allowed on the premises.
There are vending machines where you can purchase soft drinks.
Save the food and alcohol after you leave the building.
customer base
Until around 14:00, it was mostly people in their 50s and 60s who probably lived nearby, and it was quite comfortable.
Many people were using it calmly, and the sauna room and bathroom were quiet and comfortable.
After 14:00, the number of younger customers started to increase, and the comfort level suddenly seemed to drop.
I think early hours are generally recommended.
If you encounter a Dragon Quest customer, it would be a good idea to retreat from the bathroom, take a rest in the rest area, and take a bath again at a different time.
Also, talking is prohibited in the bathroom and sauna, so if it gets too bad, it might be a good idea to ask the staff for help.
Overall Assessment
Urban Spa was a good sauna facility that was easily available near Hon-Atsugi Station.
It has a slightly unique atmosphere as it is located semi-underground, but it has all the necessary and sufficient equipment for a sauna.
Another nice feature was that there was a rest area.
I think the biggest attraction is the price.
I think the price of 1,400 yen, which includes a room wear and towel set, is quite cheap.
Sauna facilities are getting more and more expensive these days, so being able to use one in this price range is quite attractive.
I think this is a very easy-to-use facility for those looking for a day trip sauna around Hon-Atsugi.

1,400 yen from 10:00 to closing time.
Towel and gown set rental is included.
After 6:00 pm, the price changes: Tuesday to Friday, weekdays are 1,000 yen, and Saturdays and Sundays are 1,100 yen.
Towel set will be charged separately (300 yen).
■Access
About 4 minutes walk from Hon-Atsugi Station on the Odakyu Line.
It's close to the station and there are many restaurants nearby, so you won't have to worry about eating after the sauna.
