Visit and Queue Information
Date: Saturday, July 2026
Visiting time: around 11:30
Queue: Four groups ahead; about 20 minutes
Crowd status: Store full
Seat: table seat
I visited at around 11:30 on a Saturday in July 2026.
The restaurant was full, with four groups waiting outside.
I entered at around 11:55 and was shown to a table.
The wait was about 20 minutes.
The first dish arrived about 10 minutes after I sat down, making the total wait a little over 30 minutes.
Menu
This time, I ordered two dishes: Oyakodon (Chicken and Egg Rice Bowl) and Mizutaki Chuka Soba (Chicken Hot Pot Ramen).
Ordering and Payment
Payment method: cash, PayPay
Oyakodon (Chicken and Egg Rice Bowl, Regular) — ¥1,200
First of all,Oyakodon (Chicken and Egg Rice Bowl, Regular, ¥1,200)”.
The set includes oyakodon, soup, Torikawa no Shigureni (ginger-simmered chicken skin), and tsukemono (Japanese pickles).
So let's have it.
The oyakodon has an excellent balance of sweetness and saltiness.
The chicken has a pleasantly springy texture.
The egg is perfectly soft-set, just as it should be.
The silky egg and sauce coat the rice, making this an oyakodon that almost goes down like a drink.
Soup
This is the soup served with the oyakodon.
It tastes like a slightly less salty version of the broth in the Mizutaki Chuka Soba that appears later.
The savory flavor of chicken comes through clearly.
It is the kind of soup that might be served at the end of a yakitori tasting course.
Torikawa no Shigureni (Ginger-Simmered Chicken Skin) and Tsukemono (Japanese Pickles)
The Torikawa no Shigureni (ginger-simmered chicken skin) is seasoned with a noticeable ginger aroma.
It would have made an excellent snack with a beer.
The tsukemono provide a refreshing break between bites of the sweet-and-savory oyakodon.
Mizutaki Chuka Soba Tokusei Shio (Special Salt Chicken Hot Pot Ramen) — ¥1,250
Next, ``Mizutaki Chuka Soba Tokusei Shio (Special Salt Chicken Hot Pot Ramen, ¥1,250)”.
Ordering this together with the oyakodon made for an ambitious two-dish meal, but this was the dish I was most looking forward to.
It arrived about three minutes after the oyakodon.
The bowl contains chicken, Toridango (chicken meatballs), and Ajitama (seasoned egg).
So let's have it.
Soup
Like the soup served with the oyakodon, this broth delivers plenty of savory chicken flavor.
Because it is designed for ramen, the seasoning is slightly saltier than the oyakodon soup.
It is a broth built around the flavor of chicken.
Noodles
The noodles are thin straight noodles.
They have a pleasantly firm, snappy texture.
They pair well with the chicken-rich broth.
Chicken
Instead of the usual ramen chashu, the bowl contains generous chunks of chicken.
It includes both boneless and bone-in chicken, a fitting choice for a specialist chicken restaurant.
A small plate is provided for the bones.
Toridango (Chicken Meatball)
This is the Toridango (chicken meatball).
The ginger is pronounced and keeps any unwanted chicken aroma in check.
Flavored egg
The Ajitama (seasoned egg) lets the rich flavor of the yolk come through.
It is exactly what you would expect from a restaurant specializing in chicken.
Impressions and Rating
At Toyosu Market,Torimeshi Toritoh Toyosu Market” and “Oyakodon (Chicken and Egg Rice Bowl, Regular)” and “Mizutaki Chuka Soba Tokusei Shio (Special Salt Chicken Hot Pot Ramen)” I received it.
Toritoh lived up to its reputation for delicious chicken dishes.
The oyakodon combines perfectly balanced sweet-and-savory seasoning with springy chicken and soft-set egg.
Its silky texture makes it very easy to eat and it is delicious, though it did not feel so distinctive that a similar level of satisfaction could not be found at other restaurants.
By contrast, the Mizutaki Chuka Soba Tokusei Shio delivers a deep and unmistakable savory chicken flavor.
This dish feels genuinely distinctive, so my personal recommendation is the Mizutaki Chuka Soba.
I am also curious to try the other menu items.
There is also a location in Tsukiji, making Toritoh a good choice when visiting either Toyosu Market or Tsukiji.
