1st bottle: Asaya Shoten x Tofu Single Cask Milton Duff 2009 14 years
This is a single cask Milton Duff selected by famous liquor stores in Chichibu: Asaya Shoten and Tofu.
This is a bottle that was distilled in 2009 and aged for 14 years.
『Whiskey Talk Fukuoka” I sampled it and it was delicious, so I ordered it on the spot.
As for the taste, it's delicious with a strong floral feel just like the label says.
It seems like you can still buy it at whiskey events, but regular sales have ended, so it might be difficult to buy it from now on, but if you see it at a bar, give it a try.
2nd bottle: Niigata Kameda Distillery Newborn 2 years old
This is the 2nd year of Newborn released by Niigata Kameda Distillery.
I'm from Niigata Prefecture and this is my favorite distillery since it's close to my hometown, so of course I bought it.
The taste is honeyed or milky, with bitterness and nuttiness in the second half, giving the impression that it has a complex flavor with bitterness coming from the sweetness.
I think the level of perfection is high, but Niigata Kameda's Newborn has been released quite a lot. .
If you have bought Niigata Kameda's Newborn in the past year or so, I think there is little need to buy it again.
It may be good for people who are drinking Niigata Kameda for the first time or after a long time, but unless you are a big fan, I think it would be better to drink it at a bar or at a whiskey event rather than buying it.
Niigata Kameda Distillery will be 3 years old this year (2024), so I think a single malt will be released either this year or next.
Personally, I think it would be better to skip this time and buy or try a single malt instead.
3rd bottle: Niigata Kameda Distillery Newborn Hand Fill
On June 14th, “Liquor Mountain Shibuya 313 store' has opened.
When it comes to shops with a good selection of whiskey in Shibuya, it has been said thatShinanoya Dogenzaka store” and “Yamaya Dogen Sakaue store', but one more store has been added here.
Shinanoya and Yamaya are on opposite sides of the road, and Rikaman is also about a 10 minute walk, so each store is relatively close to each other, making it fun to visit the liquor stores.
In the store, ``Liquor Mountain Ginza 777 storeYou can sample it or sell it by weight, and the best part is that you can hand-fill it.
Then, when I heard that I could hand fill Niigata Kameda Distillery, I came right away.
The specs are bourbon cask and the alcohol content is 60%.
I have the impression that the taste is quite balanced, and although it is still a new born, I think it has a finish that can be expected to be released as a single malt.
It was my first time to experience hand filling, but I never expected to be able to do it in Tokyo. . That's what it feels like.
In addition to Niigata Kameda Distillery, there was of course Nagahama Distillery, AMAHAGAN, Saburomaru Distillery, Hishida Distillery, and Eigashima Distillery.

4th and 5th: Yamazaki/Hakushu Story of Distillery
Story of Distillery in Yamazaki and Hakushu. (commonly known as SOD)
A lottery was being held at Bic Sake Sales, and the lottery targets were Kanosuke's DD, Yamazaki/Hakushu SOD, and Hibiki BH.I applied for 3 bottles of Yamazaki, Hakushu, and Hibiki, and I was lucky enough to choose 2 of them.
In the lottery of Bic Liquor Sales, the most recent ``March” Akkeshi's Risshun won, and I feel like I've won quite a lot this year.
Since I started living alone, I've only bought home appliances from Bic Camera, so if you include things other than home appliances, I think I've spent a total of 1,000,000 or more than 2,000,000 yen, so the benefits of that are finally paying off.
I still can't buy Yamazaki/Hakushu's standard products, but I'm grateful that I can buy limited edition items.
I haven't been able to open the bottle yet, but the preliminary reviews don't seem to be very positive, but I plan on opening it and drinking it someday.
6th: Kanosuke Artist Edition #003
This is the third edition of the artist edition.
By the way, I don't have the first or second edition.
It is said that the wine is aged mainly in shochu richer casks, bourbon casks and red wine casks, and brown sugar shochu casks.
I haven't been able to open the bottle until now, but this year's ``Chichibu Whiskey FestivalKanosuke of `` also used richer barrels, and it was quite delicious with melon and other notes, and I'm curious about the brown sugar part, so I think it's a bottle I'm really looking forward to.
7th: Glendowan
April'sWhiskey Harbor KobeI tasted it at `` and it was delicious, so I was thinking about buying it, and finally I was able to buy it.
If you drink it straight, you can enjoy the rich sherry, and if you drink it in a highball, you can enjoy the sweetness and smokiness of sherry.
Many brands of sherry barrel whiskey don't go well with highballs, but this one goes perfectly.
However, the price is in the low 2,000 yen range, so I feel that it is the best value for money, and is a savior in a time of rising prices.
I think it has something to do with the timing of import, but domestic stock seems to be decreasing, and there are fewer opportunities to see them in stores.
If you see it, please buy it.
Even if you can't buy it this time, it was released in Japan on March 1, 2024, so I think it will be back in stock six months later, probably around autumn, so I don't think you'll be unable to buy it in the future.
So, be careful not to rush into reselling or buying at a high price.
8th bottle: THE PURPLE HAZE The Old Panama Rum 21 Years
Although it is not whiskey, I also purchase rum released by Shinanoya.
This is one of the 21-year old Panama rums in the Purple Haze series.
『Whiskey Talk FukuokaI sampled it during the event, and it was so tropical and delicious that I ordered it on the spot.
I look for tropical or fruity elements in my whiskey, but with rum you can easily get those tropical elements, and it's easier to feel them stronger and more clearly than with whisky.
So lately I've been paying attention to rum and I've been drinking it at bars.
Whiskey is my main focus, but I'm also interested in other distilled spirits such as gin and rum, as well as herbal liqueurs and distilled spirits such as absinthe and pastis. .
Closing Thoughts
In terms of whiskey alone, there were a total of 7 bottles in June 2024, and the total purchase price was approximately 88,000 yen.
I often see Japanese whisky, and I even won a lottery, so the lineup was mainly Japanese.
There were some releases from Bottler's, but the bottles that I tried and thought were delicious were either popular bottles or expensive bottles in the 100,000 yen class, so I couldn't buy them very often.
There will be no whiskey events in July, so you won't be able to sample or order in advance, so I thought it would be relatively quiet, but I've already purchased a few bottles, so I hope to be able to introduce them to you again, so please look forward to it.
