1st: Killchoman 13 years
I attended The Whiskey Crew (TWC) tasting event held in September and had a drink there.
There is a strong fruity aroma.
The taste is dusty from the peat, with a hint of yellow fruit such as pineapple in the second half.
I get the impression that the sweetness becomes more pronounced over time.
The vatting of bourbon barrels and Calvados barrels adds a touch of Calvados, and I think it brings out the sweetness and fruit, but I've started to notice some yellow fruit in Kilchoman itself.
Since it was founded in 2005, I think its longest run has been around 20 years, but I get the impression that it's getting better every year.
I'd like to buy a few bottles now and keep them in stock, whether it's official or single cask.
2nd bottle: Single malt Komagatake
There have been official releases of Komagatake in the past, but they were released as limited edition items like the 2024 Edition.
From this release, it will be treated as a standard item.
On the palate, it has muscat, citrus, barley, ripe persimmon, and some tropical elements.
Previous official releases of Komagatake also had the element of ripe persimmons, and this limited edition also carried the same elements.
The price is 7,000+ tax per bottle, which is the same price as Yamazaki, Hakushu, Yoichi, and Miyagi Gorge, and personally, if I were to buy one of those, I would probably buy Komagatake.
3rd bottle: Whiskey Pacific Bushmills 1991-2025 33 years

It feels like dark peach, dark grape, and mintia.
It clearly tastes like peach and grape, so I think it's a delicious bottle for anyone to drink.
Delicious is delicious, but it has a bit of a barrel-like taste, so I personally prefer WHISKY BULES.
It's a bit pricey, but if you see it at a bar, give it a try.
4th: Shinanoya Calila 2008-2023 15 years
This is Kalila released in July 2025.
It's been a while since it was released, but I finally got around to it.
Just when it was released,Introduction to whiskey purchased in July 2025I had purchased Asaya Shoten and Tofu's Calila from Single Cask, which I introduced in the article, so I didn't drink it because I thought I wouldn't buy it.
As for the taste, it was a full-on citrusy Karilla with hints of saltiness, grapefruit, nuts, and citrus.
Aged for 15 years, it costs 25,000 yen + tax, which seems a bit expensive, but it was so delicious that I thought it was worth buying.
5th bottle: Shinanoya Koval Pink Corn Bourbon for MILWAUKEE’S CLUB & SHINANOYA
It's a rare bourbon.
This bottle is for MILWAUKEE'S CLUB, which is one of the best places to drink bourbon in the Kanto region.
I personally don't like bourbon, and I don't like the unique chemical aftertaste.
It's a bourbon, so it has that chemistry, but it's more fruity.
It has the grape-like flavor and vanilla that you would expect from a high-quality bourbon, and although it may be a bit of an exaggeration, it also has a Mont Blanc feel.
Koval has a lot of delicious and cheap releases. .
I want this too. .
6th: ACORN Asaka
Distilled in 2020, bottled in 2025, aged for 5 years in a 2nd fill bourbon barrel.
held in September 2025 ``Hachioji Whiskey Street 2025" held in September.
Although it had an alcohol attack, it had a fruity Asaka flavor with honey, pine, and passion fruit, so I decided to enter the lottery or apply for purchase.
I think the alcohol attack will calm down once I buy it, so I would like to let it mature in the bottle for about 2-3 years before drinking it.
7th: Shinanoya Glen Keith 1993 29 Hogshead
This is also “Hachioji Whiskey Street 2025".
You can definitely feel the green apple that is typical of Glen Keith.
In addition, to put it best, I feel a bit of ripe fruit and tea leaves, but to say badly, I get the impression of a barrel-like taste and astringency.
I think it's one that deviates from my personal taste, but I think it's definitely a good release.
8th: Tamaniwa Liquor Store PB Ben Riach 2007 16
This is also “Hachioji Whiskey Street 2025".
At first, the lines were thick and gave the impression of dashi soup or dried sardines.
After a little swirling, I started to get a fruity taste, picking up notes of citrus peel, papaya, tea leaves, and soy sauce.
It's aged for 16 years and costs 17,000 yen, so it's a good deal, so I think it's worth buying when you have the money.
Impressions
September 2025 was modest in terms of new releases, but it was a lot because I drank past releases and participated in TWC's tasting event and "Hachioji Whiskey Street 2025".
I get the impression that there were a lot of bottles that weren't really talked about, but when I tried them, they were simply delicious.
The most talked about topic is which distillery it will be released from, but I think there are many difficult issues such as the timing of the release.
If things go as usual, I think releases will be modest until mid-November.
I think we'll continue to release small releases, but I'll try to catch up by going to bars, attending events, drinking, and more.
