I had lunch in Toyosu on a Sunday.
Because Toyosu also functions as a business district, some restaurants close on weekends, leaving fewer choices than on weekdays.
You might think of LaLaport, but it gets extremely crowded on weekends, so I generally leave it out.
On weekends, I want to enjoy good food while avoiding crowds as much as possible.
That led me to Aoyuzu Tora Toyosu』。
Weekday lunches can be busy, but at around noon on this Sunday there was no line and the dining room was relatively calm.
The situation at the time of my last visit was ``here』

Gindara to Tempura Teishoku (Black Cod and Tempura Set Meal) — ¥1,580
Once again, I ordered the Gindara to Tempura Teishoku (Black Cod and Tempura Set Meal, ¥1,580)』。
I chose the same set meal for the third visit in a row.
Honestly, it feels like the best choice—or perhaps there simply is not much reason to order anything else...
It also seemed that around 80 percent of the other diners had chosen this dish.
The meal centers on Gindara Saikyo-yaki (miso-marinated grilled black cod) and tempura, accompanied by gohan (rice), arajiru (fish head and bone miso soup), a kobachi side dish, and tsukemono (Japanese pickles).
This time, the kobachi (small side dish) was Kiriboshi Daikon-ni (Simmered Dried Daikon)'It was.
One refill each of rice and miso soup is available, but I skipped both because I planned to have another snack later that day.
Gindara Saikyo-yaki (Miso-marinated Grilled Black Cod)
First, the Gindara Saikyo-yaki (miso-marinated grilled black cod).
This black cod is one of the reasons I have chosen the same set meal three times.
The rich, fatty flesh had no fishy smell, and the Saikyo miso was not so strong that it masked the black cod itself.
The miso complements the fish's savory flavor and richness, creating a taste that naturally calls for rice.
No matter how many times I eat this set meal, the black cod remains its centerpiece.
Tempura
Next came the tempura.
The selection was unchanged: shrimp, squid, shishito pepper, and eggplant.
On my first visit, the squid's texture concerned me, and the tempura did not impress me as much as the black cod.
My impression improved on the second visit, and that better standard was maintained this time.
After trying it three times, the quality from the second visit onward now outweighs my first impression.
The black cod alone is enough to keep the rice going, but consistently good tempura raises the satisfaction of the entire set meal.
Kiriboshi Daikon-ni (Simmered Dried Daikon)
This time, the kobachi (small side dish) was Kiriboshi Daikon-ni (Simmered Dried Daikon)”.
The changing kobachi adds a small element of variety each time I return to this set meal.
Pickles
This is Tsukemono (Japanese Pickles).
I enjoyed them alongside the black cod and tempura.
rice
Gohan (rice) is essential with the Gindara Saikyo-yaki (miso-marinated grilled black cod).
One refill of rice is available.
On past visits I sometimes wanted a little more rice for the amount of food, so the current refill option suits this set meal well.
Arajiru (Fish Head and Bone Miso Soup)
The miso soup is arajiru (fish head and bone miso soup).
It is a bowl full of savory fish flavor, and one refill is available.
Arajiru is best enjoyed while hot, when the fish flavor is most vivid, so I prefer to drink it early alongside the meal.
Overall Rating
『Aoyuzu Tora Toyosu.
I have ordered the same Gindara to Tempura Teishoku (Black Cod and Tempura Set Meal) on all three visits, but the tempura is the part whose impression has changed since the first visit.
Although I had some concerns on the first visit, it improved on the second and remained consistent this time.
The meal includes Gindara Saikyo-yaki (miso-marinated grilled black cod) and tempura, plus one refill each of rice and arajiru.
At ¥1,580, this feels like good value amid today's continuing price increases.
This visit also reminded me how convenient the restaurant is on a Sunday in Toyosu.
Some restaurants close on weekends and LaLaport tends to be crowded, yet this restaurant was relatively calm even around noon.
I can save must-visit restaurants for weekdays and come here when I want a genuinely good weekend lunch without the crowds.
It is a restaurant worth remembering for exactly that kind of day.
